Extensive research told me that cutting my calories for just two days a week could have a profound effect on my health. Within a few months, I’d lost nearly a stone and a half and my blood-sugar levels were no longer considered diabetic. I coined my eating routine ‘The 5:2 diet’ and shared details of the discovery in what would become an international bestselling book.
